For water and wastewater operators: water balance, yearly loss targets, specific loss per kilometre of network and losses by system, next to the maintenance of pumping stations.
In 2024, more than 1.22 billion cubic metres entered Romania’s public water supply systems, but only about 661 million were billed. The difference, over 565 million cubic metres, is lost or non-revenue water (Economedia, based on official data).
Part of it is real loss through bursts and old pipes. Part is apparent loss through unmetered use and metering errors. To reduce either, you first have to measure them consistently, per system, against a target.
The PREDIKTIS water management module tracks water balance entries, yearly loss targets, loss percentage, specific loss per kilometre of network and losses by system, in line with ANRSC reporting in Romania.

Losses are fought in the network, but also in the stations that feed it. Vibration and temperature sensors on pumps and blowers show a worn bearing early, before the station stops.
